The Syrena Saga
With an integral passion for the underground dance culture, and a desire to establish a music career, Celene Lew realized her dreams, and Syrena (“sigh-re-nah”, Polish for “mermaid”) was born. A former model and club promoter, she was moved to take to the decks and the studio to promote the virtues of the Drum & Bass sound. With a parallel appreciation of Downtempo and House, her style is moody and eclectic, jazzy and atmospheric, melodic and smooth.
Syrena started spinning in 1999 and has already established herself as a resident of ONE Entertainment, a mega-dance event company, and performed alongside the likes of LTJ Bukem, DJ Bailey, J-Smooth, Little Louie Vega, Stacey Pullen, Christian Smith and Doc Martin. She has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Mixer Magazine, and on House of Blues internet radio. Fast becoming a mainstay of LA’s nightlife, she has played for numerous private industry parties and at various clubs including The Hollywood Athletic Club, Louis XIV, The Sunset Room, Soho, Club Lingerie and The Standard. Girl-power fueled clothing company New Breed Girl recognized her potential to make a splash in the male-dominated DJ world and is now their DJ spokesmodel, and is also sponsored by Hi-Roller.com.
It is Syrena’s goal to deliver, with her trademark style and grace, a message of inspiration, confidence and passion for the deeper rhythms of life.
