+++ ATT: Internet Explorer 5.5/Sp2 and 6.0 for Windows Users +++

Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows, versions 5.5 SP2 and 6.0 (soon to be released) no longer support Netscape-style plug-ins, such as the plug-in installed as part of QuickTime 5.0.2 and earlier versions. Consequently, Windows customers using these versions of Explorer may be unable to view QuickTime content in the browser. Mac users and Netscape users are unaffected.

To restore compatibility, Apple has provided an ActiveX control. By visiting this page you will be prompted to download and install this control if you do not already have it. Alternatively you may check your installiation at:

Problems Listening to Archived Audio

Apple has an excellent resource to test and troubleshoot your QuickTime Installation. For a possible quick fix, follow the 3 steps under "Set up QuickTime for Streaming" on this page. For the most comprehensive test and instructions click the link below.

Set up QuickTime for streaming

QuickTime 4.1 is designed to automatically configure your streaming connection the first time you try to play a streaming movie. If you are having trouble with streaming or have moved your machine from one network to another then you may want to manually configure your QuickTime streaming network settings to establish the best streaming connection possible.

1. Open the QuickTime Settings control panel.
2. Choose Streaming Transport from the pop-up.
3. Click Auto Configure.

QuickTime should return a success dialog, click OK. If for any reason it was not able to establish a connection click on the Apple support link above.
